Back To The Blogosphere

Who says there’s no resurrection?  I started this blog in 2005, and here it is again, older, wrinklier, but still kicking. A friend told me blogs were nothing more than an exercise in ego and I have to agree. However, he’s long since passed to wherever it is dead people go and this ego-driven blog survives.

When I decided (along with five million fellow Mastodonians) to revive El Bloggo, the purpose was to expand on politically-related topics social media couldn’t accommodate for length. Sadly, I find no purpose in sharing my opinion on anything political these days — two weeks post electing a fascist, who in turn is nominating the most ludicrous gang of incompetents ever assembled.  Not that I expect to live this long, but it will be interesting for someone to tally the deaths these nincompoops cause within this coming decade.

Social media is jam-packed with doom, and likely rightly so.  Nothing, nothing, nothing good can come from Fucko 2.0, and there are millions of others spewing their opinions on all of it. Mine isn’t needed.

So, what will this version of El Bloggo be about, one wonders? The weather? The birds and plants in my back garden? The uninspired meals I cook? That about covers all the events in my most boring life, aside from my family, none of whom I’m sure would like to be discussed here.

Dunno. Maybe I said everything I had to say from 2005-2019. Or not. I guess we’ll see.

I am curious why every freaking recipe on the internet requires cheese in some form, and why every YouTube chef feels the need to demonstrate their method to chop an onion. I’m also curious where powerful interests subverting #ClimateCrisis mitigation measures think anyone is going to live after they’ve killed the Earth and the entire biome — but that’s a query for another day.

For now, I’m going to watch the birds scramble for seed while storm clouds march toward us, then I’ll  roast some veggies in my air fryer - the sum total of yet another day for Cyn.

(I should note that in recovering this blog and changing an associated email address, almost all photos were lost and oh so many links messed up. (Blame Blogger.  I followed directions.) I’ll be attempting to retrieve and repair in the coming two decades.  Sorry.)
