Give Yourself A Cyber Treat

I've had Up In Alaska posted on my list of "blogs worth your time" for a couple of months, and I hope those who read here will read there, too.

Jill, the writer, is a journalist and cyclist in Alaska, and her blog focuses on cycling -- which isn't a particular interest of mine, although I do bike around my area frequently on my Schwinn granny bike with the chrome basket. (Yes, really. Where else do you put your cuppa Starbucks, water bottle, gloves, cell phone, garage door opener, house and mailbox keys, emergency information, sunglasses, visor and camera?)

Jill highlights each post with at least one exquisite photo of wherever she's biking that day. usually around Juneau. It must be possible to take a bad picture of the scenery up there, but I've yet to see one on Jill's blog. Some photos and photographers just resonate with one's own camera "eye," and I find myself wishing every day I had taken just THAT picture.

In the past few weeks I've spent way too much time looking through blogs (described here), and while I've found some writing that is enviable, too much is very ordinary and, well, boring. Jill's writing is poetic, professional and captivating -- for an example, see this post that she archived under "Some Of My Better Posts."

Biker or not, writer or not, Alaska aficionado or not, photographer or not, give yourself a treat and check out her blog. If you appreciate stunning photos and excellent writing, you'll be glad you took the time.

Wow, Cynthia, thanks. That's about the nicest thing anyone has said about me. My cheeks are burning.

I love the content on your blog ... from the poetry to the Bushisms. I added it to my blog role. Keep up the good work. I'll keep in touch.
